The office of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should disclose the expenses incurred on advertising the government's anti-corruption drive, the Central Information Commission has held.

"CMO being the high office of the Delhi Government is expected to be more responsible to such kind of applications. It is their duty to collect information with reference to anti-corruption drive of the Chief Minister, which the Government claimed as unique programme," Information Commissioner Sridhar Acharyulu said.

The case relates to Shiv Kumar, who sought to know the details of advertising of anti-corruption drive, along with action on reports of bribery besides information on details of air conditioners installed at the residence of Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and copies of the orders of audit of power companies. Not getting any information Kumar approached the Commission with his plea for the disclosure of the records.

Explaining its position, the officials of CMO said they do not hold the information which had been dealt with in various files of various departments of Delhi government.

The official said it is for the departments concerned to whom the CMO transfers the RTI applications, to furnish the information directly to the RTI applicant, who had been replied accordingly by the CMO.
Acharyulu said the government should consider this application as "an opportunity to prove their commitment towards anti corruption".

"The Commission directed the PIO/CMO to provide a comprehensive report of working of the anti-corruption policy and furnish the same to the appellant with a copy to the Commission within one month from the date of receipt of this order," Acharyulu said.
