Politicians on Twitter have reacted to the passing of senior Congress leader and former union minister Murli Deora

Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Murli Deora passed away in Mumbai on Monday morning after prolonged illness. He was 77 and is survived by his wife and two sons, including former MP Milind Deora. All party leaders expressed their condolences of Deora's passing away. Some took to Twitter to express their grief and condole Deora's death.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his condolences in a series of tweets. He offered his condolences to Murli Deora's son, former Lok Sabha MP Milind Deora. He remembered Deora as a dedicated leader whose "warm nature made him popular across party lines"

Senior BJP leader and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley remembered him as a "senior leader and a close personal friend".

Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'Brien tweeted that Murli Deora would often engage with juniors. He offered his condolences to the late Deora's son Milind. 

Biju Janata Dal MP Baijayant "Jay" Panda echoed O'Brien and said that Deora was "always kind, supportive and accesible to younger ones", and referred to him as an "old school gentleman". 

BJP MP too mourned Deora's death and commended his work for Mumbai and Congress.

Congress politician Karti Chidambaram too offered condolences to Milind Deora and his family.
