In a shocking case, a woman was drugged and raped by her husband and his friend who also went on to make a video of the act and blackmailed her in Maharashtra's Kalyan.
According to a TOI report, the woman was raped multiple times in an unconscious state by her husband and his friend and also threatened to release the video of the act.
The victim had filed a complaint in the Kolsewadi police station on Tuesday. In her complaint, the woman said her husband on August 17 called over his friend to their place. He spiked his wife's juice and he forced her to have sex with his friend. When she refused, he threatened to kill her. She was then raped multiple types by her 28-year-old husband and his friend in semi-conscious state. They also made a video of the act and threatened her to upload it on social media if she dared to talk about the incident to anyone.
However, on Raksha bandhan when the victim visited her maternal's place, she told her sister who asked her to file a complaint.
The husband and his friend has been booked under IPC sections 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural sex), 354 (molestation), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (criminal act done by several persons with common intention), a police official was quoted as saying by TOI. Both the accused have been absconding.
In a similar case, a woman was allegedly raped at knifepoint by her ex-husband, who had taken her to a hotel on the pretext of talking to her.
According to the complaint lodged at the Karanj police station, Firoz took his former wife, Rubina (name changed), to a hotel on Relief Road on Friday, saying he wanted to talk to her. But once they got to the hotel, he raped her thrice.
According to the police, Rubina had been married to a man from the Thakore community and had two children with him. But the marriage had not worked out and they had divorced. Rubina had then come in contact with Ismail Ayub Sheikh, her present husband and cousin of the accused.
Ismail and Rubina had liked each other, but Ismail did not want to marry her as he had been married in the past. According to the officer, Ismail told Rubina to marry his cousin, Firoz, who liked her. The duo also allegedly decided to continue their affair after the marriage.
The affair came to light when Ismail was caught meeting Rubina in Firoz's absence. That caused relations between the cousins to sour and Rubina divorced Firoz.
Later, Ismail had to marry Rubina after she lodged a complaint with the police that he was harassing her mentally and physically.
