Maharashtra polls: Former state CMs cast their vote as polling picks up momentum

Former Maharashtra chief ministers Prithiviraj Chavan and Ashok Chavan cast their respective votes on Wednesday as polling for the Maharashtra assembly elections also picked up pace.

Ashok Chavan and Prithviraj Chavan cast their votes in Nanded and Karad respectively.

Expressing confidence about his party's prospects, Prithviraj Chavan told reporters, "This time also people will choose us. Major alliances have broken; all political parties are taking their chances. I have full faith that public will choose me."

Polling began this morning in Maharashtra's 288 assembly constituencies to elect a new Legislative Assembly in the state. The polling began at 7.00 am today and concluded at 6.00 pm. The counting of votes will be held on October 19.
