Maharashtra: Opposition parties to begin second phase of Sangharsh Yatra on April 15

After 19 Opposition MLAs were suspended from state assembly for indiscipline, the Opposition had boycotted the proceedings of the Budget Session and launched Sangharsh Yatra for the demand of loan waiver for farmers in the state.

The Opposition parties in the Maharashtra will launch the second phase of Sangharsh Yatra from Sindkhedraja om the Buldhana district on Sunday. 

After 19 Opposition MLAs were suspended from state assembly for indiscipline, the Opposition had boycotted the proceedings of the Budget Session and launched Sangharsh Yatra for the demand of loan waiver for farmers in the state. 

After completing first phase of Sanghars Yatra, the Opposition including Congress, NCP,  Peasant's and Workers' Party (PWP) People's Republican party, Janata Dal (United), CPI, CPM Samajwadi party will be participating in the second phase.

The second phase will start on Saturday (April 15) from Sindkhedraja in Buldhana since Sindkhedraja is the birth place of Jijabai, mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The Yatra will visit Jalgaon, Dhule, Nandurbar, Nashik, Palghar and Thane districts and will conclude at Shahapur on April 18. 

The Opposition leaders will address small public rallies at all these places. Leader of Opposition Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil informed that the Opposition would press for complete loan waiver for the farmers in the state. He said that since the Government is fast asleep, there was no other way than taking out the Yatra to reach out to people of the state.
