In order to provide an urban market to self help groups for women, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday proposed building an exclusive mall in every districts of the state. He said that such malls would provide a platform where the self help groups can display their products before the urban customer and reap benefits by selling them.

Fadnavis made the suggestion while attending the inaugural function of Gran Vikas Bhawan in Kharghar in Navi Mumbai on Monday, where Pankaja Munde, Minister of Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare was also present. On the occasion, Fadnavis also gave away cash benefits to five self help groups for women. He suggested that such malls should be given to groups on rotational basis every month, and this should continue round the year.

Fadnavis also stressed on bringing all gram panchayats into one network. “Around 93% people of the state use mobile and the state can be an example if all gram panchayats are brought in one network,” said Fadnavis. He added that this will help the state government to reach out to villages easily.

Praising Prime Minister's Narendra Modi's decision of demonetization and cashless economy, he said that BHIM App launched by Modi will change how people carry out transactions. On the occasion, Fadnavis also launched the app and website for Mahalaxmi Saras exhibition for self help groups, where village food and other items will be displayed and sold, scheduled at Bandra Reclamation ground in Mumbai from January 11 to 23.
