However, Modi today campaigned for a candidate with 12 crimnial cases.

The Prime Minister campaigned for a four- term legislator Shivaji Kardile, a candidate from Rahuri assembly constituency of Ahmednagar district, who has 12 criminal cases registered against him.

Kardile is also an accused in Ahmednagar's Ashok Lande murder case, while the proceeding of the case is going on in Nashik District session court.

In December 2012, Kardile was arrested for allegedly cheating and threatening an eye surgeon with a revolver. He was booked in murder and cheating cases.

Shiv Sena has threatened to display black flags if Modi campaigns for Kardile.  Earlier, Modi had also campaigned for candidate Anil Gote, who was arrested in the Abdul Karim Telgi scam.
