The tussle between the Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over seat sharing for the Maharashtra Assembly elections seems to getting tough as Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Monday refused to accede to the BJP's demand of 135 seats.

Speaking to the media, Thackeray said, “Giving 135 seats to the BJP is not at all feasible. The talks between both the parties are still going on and we have given proposals to each other.”

While announcing the third phase of the party's vision document, when Thackeray was asked about the increasing tensions over seat sharing, he said, “Everyone has a right to expand party. The Sena-BJP alliance has existed for the last 25 years and we want the alliance to remain. No steps will be taken that will affect the alliance.”

He further added, “We are trying to find the solution and the question will end in 2-3 days.”

Although the seat sharing row between the alliance parties seems to be reaching its peak as both parties are not ready to come to terms, Thackeray has indirectly given positive signs of reaching some concensus by saying “there is a solution for every issue”.
