Maharashtra: 3 arrested for raping 15-year old girl in Badlapur

The Badlapur police in Thane district of Maharashtra have arrested three people for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl. The accused were known to the girl and stayed in the same area as her.

The Badlapur police in Thane district of Maharashtra have arrested three people for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl. The accused were known to the girl and stayed in the same area as her. 

On February 26, the girl who stays in Badlapur east was invited by her friends Ahmed Mansoor Khan, 18, Ravindra Uttam Sanjekar, 24 and a 15-year-old boy. The trio asked her to go for a drive and took her on a bike to Talvalkar Maidan in Badlapur where they allegedly raped her.

After the incident, the girl did not return home and when her parents started looking for her, the neighbors who had seen her go with accused told the parents about it.

The parents then approached the Badlapur police which picked up the boys and interrogated them.  

“The culprits confessed that they had raped the girl and then left her. When we searched, we found the girl hiding behind her home,” said a police official from Badlapur east police station.

While Khan and Sanjekar were arrested on February 28 and remanded to police custody till March 6, the minor has been sent to remand home.  

“The girl is quite scared and have not revealed much about the incident. The culprits were not under the influence of alcohol or drugs when they committed the crime,” the officer said.
