19 Opposition MLAs from Maharashtra assembly were on Wednesday suspended by Speaker Haribhau for creating ruckus during Budget presentation in the House on March 18.

The MLAs have been suspended for the period of 9 months - from March 22 to December 31.

A resolution to this effect was moved by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Girish Bapat and it was adopted by the Assembly.

Opposition members had created ruckus in the Maharashtra Legislative assembly and council over the farm loan waiver issue.

The state's annual Economic Survey and Budget report was tabled amid noisy scenes.

Expressing disappointment over the announcement made by Maharashtra Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar in the state budget for 2017-18, the opposition MLAs burnt copies of the same outside the assembly on March 18.

The action has been taken against these MLAs for showing banners and placard, not following rules, burning Budget copies outside assembly.

The MLAs suspended are Amar Kale, Vijay Waddetiwar, Harshwardhan Sakpal, Abdul Sattar, D P Sawant, Sangram Thopte, Amit Zanak, Kunal Patil, Jaikumar Gore (all from Congress) besides Bhaskar Jadhav, Jitendra Awhad, Madhusudan Kendre, Sangram Jagtap, Avdhut Tatkare, Deepak Chavan, Datta Bharne, Narhari Jirval, Vaibhav Pichad and Rahul Jagtap from the NCP.

Meanwhile, the delegation of leaders from Opposition parties including Congress and NCP would meet Governor Vidyasagar Rao at 4.30 pm on Wednesday.
