Maharashtra: 17 students critically ill after consuming mid-day meal in Palghar

In a tragic incident, 17 students have seriously fallen ill after consuming mid-day meal in a Zilla Parishad run school in Maharashtra on Thursday. 

Around 250 students consumed the mid-day meal in the afternoon, among which 50 fell ill. The condition of 17 of them is said to be serious. The school is located in Vikramgarh Taluka of  Palgarh district.

Soon after consuming food, the students felt nauseous and started vomiting. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where currently treatment is underway. 

In 2013, 23 students had died in Saran district of Bihar after having poisonous mid-day meal.
