Maharashtra: 11 wagons of goods train derailed in Dahanu, several long route trains cancelled

Several trains on Up and Down lines have been cancelled.

Eleven container​ wagons of goods train were derailed on Monday morning near Dahanu road on western line, severely affecting traffic of long route trains.

The railway administration has asked all Passenger Reservation System​ (PRS) to make refund and has also opened two extra counters at Mumbai Central, Bandra T, Borivali and Surat.

Taking to micro-blogging site, Western Railway said, "Derailment of 11 container wagons near Dahanu road. Long distance trains from/to Mumbai and Dahanu suburban services held up. Efforts on for restoration."

"Long distance UP direction trains towards Mumbai have been regulated at various stations before Dahanu Road. WR Suburban trains between Churchgate & Virar are running normally, "Western Railway added.

The Railway administration has also arranged buses for the stranded passengers.
