Mahant Bhaskar Das Chief litigant in Ayodhya case is dead

He was cremated at Tulsi Das on Saturday afternoon. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Ram Naik expressed their condolences on the demise of the Ayodhya seer.

Chief of Ayodhya's Nirmohi Akhara and oldest litigant in Ram Janmbhoomi-Babri Masjid case, Mahant Bhaskar Das, breathed his last in Ayodhya on Saturday. He was 89 and was admitted to a hospital after severe brain haemorrhage on Tuesday.

He was cremated at Tulsi Das on Saturday afternoon. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Ram Naik expressed their condolences on the demise of the Ayodhya seer.

Mahanat Das was one of the main litigant in the title suit which is now pending before the Supreme Court after the Allahabad High Court divided the disputed 2.77 acres land equally between Nirmohi Akhara, Ramlala Virajmaan and Sunni Central Wakq Board in its famous verdict on September 30, 2010.

Earlier, another oldest litigant of the title suit 94-year-old Hashim Ansari had died in July 2016 after prolonged illness Both Mahant Das and Ansari enjoyed good relations and both had always advocated and preferred an out of court settlement to solve the Ayodhya imbroglio.
