Retired high court judge Chandresh Bhushan and two others have given their consent to be members of the SIT that will monitor the Special Task Force's ongoing probe into the multi-crore Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) admission and recruitment scam.

Madhya Pradesh High Court's Registrar General yesterday told the division bench of Chief Justice Ajay Manikrao Khanvilkar and Justice Alok Aradhe that Bhushan, retd Special Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) Vijay Raman and retd Deputy Director General of National Informatics Centre (NIC) CLM Reddy have given their contest to be members of the Special Investigation Team.

The division bench had on November 12 nominated the three members to the SIT and asked the HC's Registrar General to seek their willingness to oversee the probe, on a petition filed by Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh demanding a CBI probe into the scam.

While disposing of Singh's petition, the HC had decided to constitute a SIT to oversee the STF's probe.

Some prominent persons and a number of candidates have been arrested in connection with the scam in which students got admission in MBBS courses across the state through alleged fraudulent means. Besides, several people also got jobs in state government departments using unfair means.
