Even as states across the nation tackle with issue of migrant labour taking jobs from locals, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath said in the ongoing Assembly session that 70% reservation will be made in the private sector for natives of the state.
During the question hour of the Assembly, the CM annouced, "As far as private sector jobs in the state are concerned, youth residing in Madhya Pradesh will be preferred over others." Now, the Congress government is considering making a law regarding the same.
During the Assembly session, BJP MLA Yashpal Singh raised a question concerning employment opportunities amongst youth in the state. However, the question led to a heated debate, wherein CM Nath intervened and spoke about granting reservation to the youth in the state.

After taking over as chief minister last year, he had said that his government will provide incentives to industries that give 70% of their jobs to those from the state, and indicated that people from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh get employment in Madhya Pradesh at the cost of the local population, but he had to face criticism from leaders of the two states for his 'insensitive' remarks.
However, the chief minister reiterated his statement during the Tuesday's session. "Our government is committed to generate employment opportunities for local youth," said Nath. He also said that only those enterprises will avail official benefits who will provide 70% reservation to the youth.
Meanwhile, Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan criticised the decision. Attacking the chief minister, he said, "The government is appeasing the youth. Previously, they had increased the age limit of the youth coming from outside and now they are appeasing the youth of Madhya Pradesh."
On the other hand, state's Finance Minister Tarun Bhanot said, "We will provide employment to the unemployed youths of Madhya Pradesh. We will make a law based on it as the CM has said during the session on Tuesday."
