Madhya Pradesh: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan offers contractor scheme

This will enable BE pass to enroll for training organised by state govt.

Exhorting youths to become entrepreneur like Tata, Birla and Ambani, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday announced that MP Young Contractors' Scheme would be implemented after  August 15.

The scheme would enable BE degree holders to enroll for three-month training organized by the state government and registration as 'A' class contractor afterwards.

"The state government would offer guarantee for loan up to Rs 25 lakh for the contractors apart from arrangements of working capital, if needed," Chouhan added amid huge applause from budding engineers at TCS foundation laying ceremony.

The chief minister said that state requires 5,000 engineers for construction of roads and other projects, so budding engineers should become contractors.
State no longer would be required to hire outsider construction firms.

He said that the state government has undertaken skill development mission for supplying trained workforce for the world.

"Soon vocational university would be established and groups like Symbiosis already have evinced interest in this regard," he added. In the next few years, the state government plans to train 15 lakh skilled professionals.

Saying that loan guarantee scheme also has been introduced in higher education, Chouhan said that placement cells would be established in every district.

For enhancing employability of under and post graduates, the state government would form a working group comprising experts from national level and the group would offers set of suggestions for alterations on syllabus in three months.

Besides, for promoting innovation and research, the state government plans to establish an ICT Academy and IT youth festival would be observed every year.   

"By 2014, every village would have internet connectivity and virtual classrooms would be established in selected government schools," Chouhan announced.
