BJP national general secretary and Bengal secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya along with state BJP president Dilip Ghosh and party national secretary Rahul Sinha launched a sharp attack at the state TMC government alleging that the state indulged in appeasing a particular community to ensure the minority vote bank in their favour.

Vijayvargiya said that in the bordering districts of the state there was a movement of ‘Hindu Bhagao Ghuspetiya Badhao’ (Drive out the Hindus and patronise the infiltrators). “If people live here and chant slogans in favour of Pakistan, we are not going to sit idle. We are going to give a fitting reply to them. Similar appeasement used to be done in Jammu and Kashmir and as it went unchecked, there is now, not a single Hindu in the valleys. West Bengal would face the same fate if nothing is done now because at the bordering districts of Bengal there is a ‘Hindu Bhagao Ghuspetiya Badhao’ drive which is on and is kept under the wraps,” he said addressing a rally in Kolkata.

He scoffed at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s attempts of touring the country against demonetization and referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a tiger he said, “Sher ke khilaaf sau pachas kutte billiya ek ho jaye toh kya hoga? (What will 50 or 100 dogs and cats to even if they team up against a tiger)” he said and added that the government of ‘Ma, Maati and Manush’ which the TMC had promised to come to power had turned into a government of ‘Main (me), Money and Musalman (Muslim)’.

Retaliating the allegations of the Opposition that there was an under the table settlement between TMC and BJP, he also instructed Ghosh and Sinha to go to the CBI office in Kolkata and ask officials there to ensure a speedy investigation process into the Saradha and Rose Valley multi-crore scam and arrest all offenders.

Ghosh during his speech said during his recent visit to Bangladesh he had noticed that not even the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wore a hijab as Mamata did here.  “They are only 32 members at the Parliament and we are 350. What can they achieve raising a slogan of ‘Modi hatao desh bachao?’ It is their day dream and we will demolish it. We will not let her change Bengal into another Bangladesh. Referring to the recent fatwa issued by Shahi Imam of Tipu Sultan Masjid, Syed Md Nurur Rahman Barkati, Ghosh said that Mamata was tired of threatening the BJP and now had engaged a man with red beard who issues fatwa against the state BJP president and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “We are not against Muslims but if he keeps us rubbing the wrong way, we will also give a fitting reply. BJP does politics on its own strength,” he said.

He said that Mamata had forced the defection of a Congress MLA (Dr Manas Bhunia) by implicating him in a murder case but it would not be possible in case of the BJP leaders. “I challenge the CM to arrest me. Our workers would put up a protest programme in two days better than what her entire team could not do in two months of demonetization. Our fight will continue till BJP ascends to power here in Bengal,” Ghosh said.

Sinha too echoed similar emotions. “She has attacked the BJP leaders here in Bengal in every possible way. We can say that we are in power at the Centre. The Central agency is inquiring into the scams in which TMC leaders are associated with and it might soon happen that just like it happened with Jayalalitha, the CBI might also put Bengal’s Jayalalithaa behind bars. She has realised this and thus has unleashed attack on the BJP workers here. What she doesn’t understand is that we can tie up all the TMC MPs with lampposts in New Delhi. Don’t force us to take such a step,” he said.
