Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a day-long tour of Maharashtra tomorrow during which he will attend a number of programmes and also address a farmers' rally in Baramati, the home turf of NCP President Sharad Pawar and his family.

Besides addressing the rally, he will take part in a number of programmes in Pune, Mumbai and Baramati. The visit, which comes amidst war of words between ruling saffron allies Shiv Sena and BJP, has generated curiosity in political circles here as Modi would also be visiting the residence of Pawar for lunch, as per the schedule released here. Ahead of Maharashtra Assembly elections in October last, Modi, at a rally in Baramati, had targeted Pawar and his nephew Ajit, the then Deputy Chief Minister, and called for the ouster of the State Government, in which NCP was a key ally.
At another rally at Pandharpur, Modi had described NCP as a "naturally corrupt party". The Prime Minister will arrive in Pune in the morning and proceed to Chakan, a north western suburb, to inaugurate a multi-modal manufacturing facility of US-based diversified conglomerate General Electric (GE). This is GE's first manufacturing plant in India for which an MoU was signed with the state Government in 2013. The unit will manufacture a range of diversified products for sectors like energy, aviation, oil and gas transportation.
At Baramati, Prime Minister will visit Vidya Pratishthan campus and also inaugurate the Appasaheb Pawar Auditorium in the town in Pune district. Modi will then go to the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, also in Baramati, and lay foundation stone for a Centre for Excellence on vegetable production. At the same venue, he will address farmers. After arriving in Mumbai in late afternoon, Prime Minister will inaugurate the Permanent Judicial Museum at the Bombay High Court. The museum, located in the heritage building housing the HC, displays antique items associated with the rich history of the 150-year-old court.
He will be chief guest at the valedictory function of the sesquicentennial (150 years) celebration of the Advocates Association of Western India.
