The accused Class VII girl student of Lucknow’s Brightland School, who allegedly stabbed a six-year-old Class 1 boy of the same school last week, is claiming that she is innocent and is being framed in the case by the school management.

Breaking her silence nearly a week after the shocking stabbing incident, the accused says that she never met the victim (Hrithik Sharma) and he was not known to her before the incident.

The accused says she was being framed due to an argument between the school management and her father over some issue a few week ago. “I suspect that could be the reason for me being framed in the stabbing case by the school management,” charges the accused girl student.

She further alleges that an old picture of her was shown to the boy for identification. She said that in the old picture she had long hair.

“I have had long hair and completely different looks in that photograph. I got my hair trimmed only last November. Even then school management claimed that the boy has identified her,” she claims.

Demanding a fair probe by the CBI or any other independent agency, the girl pleaded that she was being ‘framed’ to save ‘someone’.

“I came to know about the stabbing incident only on Wednesday when news channels flashed the news around 4 pm. The case should be investigated thoroughly by the CBI or any other agency to arrest the real culprit. I am innocent and should be allowed to walk free."

The accused girl student was arrested on last Wednesday and produced before the Juvenile Justice Board. She was granted interim bail till January 30.

She allegedly stabbed Class 1 boy Hrithik Sharma with a kitchen knife in the toilet last Tuesday allegedly to force the school to give a holiday.

The boy is admitted at the Trauma Centre of the KGMU. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had visited the hospital to see the injured boy.

The accused minor’s father, a state government employee posted in Sitapur, also alleges that the police and the school authorities were framing his daughter in the case. “Soon after the incident, school teachers quizzed her in a closed room, undressed her for searching and clipped her hair for samples,” alleges father.

“My daughter is not involved in the incident but still the police, school teachers and media were interrogating her since last Wednesday as if she is a terrorist or criminal,” according to her father.

Admitting that she fled home twice, girl’s father clarified that she was instigated by neighbours against us. “Police quizzed her about the knife and accused her of playing the Blue Whale game. How will she help them in recovery of knife when she was not involved in the incident and how will she play Blue Whale game when she doesn’t have mobile or laptop?” rues the father.

The Lucknow Police and the school management, however, maintains that she was the one who had stabbed Hrithik. The case would be heard by the Juvenile Justice Board on January 30 and the police will have to produce some eye-witnesses, CCTV footage, kitchen knife, forensic reports, etc to prove the charge against. As of now, except for boy’s recorded statement, the police are yet to get concrete proof.
