In a shocking incident, a Class I student was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon inside the washroom of a Lucknow school.

According to an Indian Express report, the victim sustained cuts on his eyebrow and stomach. He was admitted to King George’s Medical University where his condition is stable.

The report further states that the victim has identified his attacker – a minor girl studying in either Class VI or ClassVII. The victim has also stated that his attacker has short hair.

The victim’s body was found by the school’s discipline in-charge, who heard banging from one of the washroom doors. On investigating, he found the door bolted and when he unbolted it, he found the victim with blood oozing out of his stomach and face. He immediately rushed him to hospital.

Police further stated that they had recorded the statement of the victim, who told them that his attacker took him to the washroom after initially telling him that a teacher was calling him. She allegedly took him to the washroom and gagged his mouth with her hand. She then attacked him with a knife on the stomach and forehead.

The attack sends reminders of the horrific murder of Pradyuman Thakur, who was found dead inside the toilet of the school, with his throat slit.

The seven-year-old was allegedly killed by a school senior, who is being tried as an adult in the CBI court.
