The lowest victory margin of a candidate in the election to the 90-member Haryana Assembly was three for the Rai Assembly seat in Sonipat district while the highest was 84,095 for the Gurgaon seat. Jai Tirath of Congress retained Rai seat with a margin of three votes defeating Inderjeet of INLD. The giant winner was Umesh Aggarwal who defeated Gopi Chand Gahlot of the INLD by a margin of 84,095 votes.
Three others who won with a narrow margin of less than 1,000 votes were Ravinder Baliala (INLD), Krishan Kumar (BJP) and Abhey Singh Yadav (BJP).
Baliala defeated Sunita Duggal of BJP by a margin of 453 votes from Ratia SC assembly seat. Krishan Kumar won the Shahabad SC seat defeating Ram Karan of INLD by a margin of 562 votes. Yadav won the Nangal Chaudhary seat defeating Manju of INLD by a margin of 981 seats. There were four candidates who won with margin of 1,000 and 2,000 votes, whereas, three other candidates lost the elections with margin being less than 1,000.
