Law is finally catching up with 48 year old Rajinder Singh alias Babby who used abuses and invective against J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti during a rally demanding CBI probe into the rape and murder of eight year old tribal nomad girl in Kathua, on May 20.

Jammu and Kashmir police has issued a look-out notice against Babby urging people to inform them about the whereabouts of the absconder.

Babby is evading arrest since a case was registered against him in Hiranagar police station on May 21. “One Rajinder Singh alais Babby is involved in the case registered under section 501/ 509 RPC, 66/67 Information Technology Act Police Station Hiranagar and is evading arrest”, reads the notice.

“Since the case is important in nature and accused person is evading arrest, as such photograph/ particulars of the accused are being circulated with the appeal that anybody having information about his whereabouts may contract on phone and mail. The identity of the informer will not be revealed and he/she will be awarded suitably”, the notice adds.

The incident had occurred on May 20 when Rajinder Singh climbed atop a vehicle and used abuses and derogatorily language against Mehbooba Mufti while his supporters carrying tricolor were seen cheering and jeering. The act was caught on camera and a 26 second video of Rajinder Singh went viral on different social media platforms in Jammu and Kashmir.

The incident has sparked massive uproar and outrage across the restive state. Cutting across the ideological lines, main opposition National Conference (NC) demanded FIR against the leader.

Last month Singh and industries minister Chander Prakash Ganga were forced to resign from cabinet for participating in the Hindu Ekta Manch rally on March 1 to support the accused and demanding  CBI probe into the Kathua rape and murder case.
