With Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley accusing the AAP-led government in Delhi of using advertisements to manipulate the media, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Sunday came in strong support of the latter, saying the BJP should first look at its own expenditure on advertisements, before passing comments on the Kejriwal-led government.

"I find it very bizarre, laughable. Mr. Jaitley should look at the way his government is functioning. It is a government purely (based) on advertisement, no work and just spectacle. When they completed two-years, look at the advertisements they gave. Just see how disturbed they get when there is partially critical assessment of their work," RJD leader Manoj Jha told ANI.

"I think Mr. Jaitley should look at his government and its advertisements before commenting on Kejriwal ji," he added.

Hitting out at Jaitley for accusing the Delhi government, earlier the AAP said that he should look at his own conduct in this regard.

"I would ask Jaitley ji, what is the need of advertisement of the Haryana government in Delhi and other states; what is the need of advertisement of the Kerala government in Delhi and other states; what is the need of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh government's ads in other states," AAP leader Somnath Bharti said.

According to reports, Jaitley assailed the AAP government in Delhi, saying the government is using advertising funds to manipulate the media.

"While "friendly" media is being given advertisements, media houses which are critical of the AAP government are being denied ad revenue," Jaitley said in an interview.
