Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today said the next Lok Sabha election would be a direct fight between SP and BJP in Uttar Pradesh, and third front would form the government at the Centre.

"Third Front would get majority and SP would be its biggest ally," Yadav said while addressing his 'Desh Bachao, Desh Banao' rally here.

He said that there were 80 seats in UP and by winning 50 seats it would emerge strongest as no other state has so many seats.

"BSP repeatedly demand that SP government in Uttar Pradesh should be dismissed. It is not even in the discussion.Remember this, the contest would be between SP and BJP," Yadav said.

"If anyone can fight against communal forces, it's only SP and it has done so even in the elections," he added.

The SP supremo alleged that opposition parties were scared with the popularity of SP and therefore they were attacking it.

"How many attacks are being made on us in different manner. They are scared. We do not care about attacks. Our people know, but everytime people supported us," he said.

Mulayam said that there would not be such a chance to strengthen the SP.

Addressing the rally, Chief minister Akhilesh said that UP was leading the country in terms of development schemes.

During the past two years, the SP government had returned people's money to people through development and welfare schemes, he said.

"Various people and parties had chosen Gorakhpur to conduct historical rallies but today, masses here had shown what a historical rally meant," the CM said.

The SP rally is being seen as a reply to BJP prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi's rally held on January 23 at the same venue.

Mulayam said that SP formed the government in the state on the strength of youths.

"They struggled on the streets, took beating and formed the government. The Lok Sabha polls is very important. Whether the government is in UP or Bihar, they cannot equate with Delhi. Delhi is collector and the state patwari," he said.

Mulayam said that he did not want to make SP a party of elderlies.

"Youth I leave it on you...think about it seriously. SP will be in your hands and you will run it. Help poor, fight against atrocities and get justice. You will present your life as a model. You have to move ahead with this ideology," he said.

Yadav alleged that the manner in which Narendra Modi mislead the people by presenting a false development model of Gujarat, he would get a reply in the elections.

The SP Supremo also raised questions over expenditure on the rallies of Modi and alleged that crores of rupees were being spent.

In a bid to reach the people of eastern UP, Mulayam said that only SP thought about the progress of the region.

"Special facilities should be given to the region. Other than budget only SP made provision for Poorvanchal fund, because we knew that this region is backward," he said.

It was also the most poor one, and the reason being that the previous governments did not pay any attention towards the region, Yadav alleged.

Attacking Congress-led UPA government at the centre he said that it had always been in the forefront for price rise.

He said that the central government imports wheat and sugar, despite the fact that it was in abundance.

Mulayam said that UP has set an example before the country.

He said that Rs 1650 crore loan of state's farmers were waived off, ban was imposed on auction of their land and free medical treatment to poor for serious ailments was provided.

"Is any other government in the country is doing so?," he said.

The SP supremo expressed hope that the SP government would fulfil promises made in its election manifesto within three years.

Yadav said that the leaders should go among the people with confidence and ensure SP's victory by leaving behind personal differences.
