Political parties and people are demanding for repolls in various constituencies across India for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. The reasons for the demands of repolls vary from constituency to constituency, some claim that the booths were captured, while others say there was use of muscle power to drive the voters to the booths.

The Tripura Pragatisheel Gramin Congress (TPGC) being the latest political party in demand for a repoll for two Lok Sabha seats called for a 12-hour dawn to dusk strike on Saturday. The party claimed there were some irregularities while polling, which took place on April 7 and April 12.

In an incident earlier this week, CPI(M) had demanded a repoll in Coimbatore in 90 booths citing that a lot of money and muscle power was used to ensure high turnout. The party wanted a repoll for one seat of the Coimbatore constituency in booths across Palladam and Sulur areas.

The BJP had demanded a repoll for the Pune Lok Sabha seat, on April 18 after the names of one lakh voters was deleted from the voters' list. Pune went to polls on April 17. Some people also reported that the EVMs were faulty and that their votes registered to the Congress candidate despite them voting for other candidates.
