Lok Sabha elections 2014: Poll Buzz of the day

Saturday, 29 March 2014 - 4:03pm IST | Agency: dna

There are so many Election Commission strictures, that by the end of the elections there will be more complaints than actual votes cast. The complaints that are pouring in are mostly trivial, some sheer nuisance. For instance the TMC on Saturday filed a complaint against Rahul Gandhi since there were school children present in his election meeting. Surely, Rahul Gandhi did not invite them. The implications are that they were shipped to the venue. Many candidates are complaining that they are scared of putting up posters since these are all photographed and compiled. In other votes elections are losing its colour and cacophony.

Shashi Tharoor, Bennett Abraham exchange barbs in Kerala

Many candidates do not remember all the cases they are involved in. But as soon as they become candidates the police is quick to bring out old files. This happened in the case of Left Front candidate Bennet Abraham who is taking on Shashi Tharoor in Trivandrum. An old case was raked up and Abraham went to court to get relief. The court said he should not be arrested till investigation is complete. The Left Front is demanding that instead an FIR should be registered against Tharoor for the mysterious death of Sunanda Tharoor.

Navjot Sigh Siddhu won't rebel against Arun Jaitley

There were indications that Navjot Singh Siddhu, who was ejected out of the Amrtisar seat by the BJP which brough in Arun Jaitley instead, would rebel, considering his nature. But Siddhu has forgotten politics and is happily commentating on the World cup. The real reason that he has not rebelled is that Siddhu and Jaitley are close buddies from the time the eminent lawyer got Siddhu out of the murder case against him and that too in the Supreme Court through what many lawyers believer were slightly surprising methods.
