The campaign for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 has officially started. After the election commission announced the dates of the upcoming 17th Lok Sabha polls 2019, political parties have launched their election campaign in full throttle.

On Tuesday, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra addressed her first public rally after joining mainstream politics. Meanwhile, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati announced that her party will not be forming any kind of alliance with the Congress party in any state. Mamata Banerjee has released the list of TMC candidates for the upcoming elections. Another development which took place was Shiv Sena inviting Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra, Radhakrishna to join the party after his son joined the BJP.

Mamata Banerjee releases list of candidates for Lok Sabha polls 

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday announced the list of Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidates for all the 42 Lok Sabha seats of the state, dropping 10 sitting MPs. Banerjee pointed out that 41% of the nominees in the list are women. She also announced some candidate for other states. Read the full story here

Priyanka Gandhi indirectly attacks PM Modi in Gujarat 

Slamming the PM Modi-led government, Priyanka Gandhi termed the forthcoming elections as nothing less than an independence movement. In her first public rally since joining mainstream politics, she invoked issues like jobs, women safety and hit out the PM Modi government without naming him saying that an environment of fear is being created. 

Priyanka Gandhi asked where are the jobs, Rs 15 lakh and what about the safety of women. Attacking promises made by the BJP government, Priyanka Gandhi said that your vote is a weapon, use it wisely. It is a weapon which will not harm anybody but only strengthen you. Read the full story here. 

NCP Sharad Pawar says a second term for PM Modi is unlikely

Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar has said that the BJP may become as the single largest party in the Lok Sabha elections but it might short fall of the absolute majority, therefore, it may need alliances. Mayawati says no on aligning with the Congress in any state 

Mayawati on Tuesday cleared the air on the alliance with the Congress party and said that BSP will not enter into any kind of alliance with the Congress party in any state. Shiv Sena invites Maharashtra leader of opposition Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil to join the party

After Maharashtra leader of opposition Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil's son Sujay Vikhe Patil joined the BJP, Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut invited Radhakrishna to join the party. "Like his son Sujay who joined BJP today, I welcome Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil to join Shiv Sena. Our party now wants that he should join Shiv Sena as well," Raut added. Read the full story here.

Anupam Hazra joins BJP

Trinamool Congress MP Anupam Hazra, who was expelled after allegations of anti-party activities, joined BJP on Tuesday. Congress MLA Dulal Chandra Bar and CPM MLA Khagen Murmu also joined BJP. Anupam Hazra was welcomed to the BJP by senior party leader Mukul Roy and  BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya at the party headquarters in New Delhi. Samajwadi Party releases names of 2 more candidates for LS Polls

The Samajwadi Party on Tuesday released the names of two more candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls 2019. The two candidates are — Ramji Lal Suman from Hathras (reserved) seat and Rajendra S Bind will contest from Mirzapur seat. Read full story here

Former PM Manmohan Singh will not contest LS polls, no alliance between Congress-AAP

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has said that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will not be contesting Lok Sabha elections 2019 and that reports of him being fielded from Amritsar seat are false.
