The State Election Commission (SEC) on Tuesday urged the High Court to direct the state government to immediately furnish the reservation list of all 2009 urban local bodies.

The counsel for SEC said they have sought directions, so as to conduct election to those bodies, whose term ends between February and March 2013. It intends to hold elections to these bodies between December and January.

“The district commissioners will be busy with preparation for the upcoming state assembly elections in the beginning of next year and it would be difficult to hold elections to urban local bodies,” SEC petition said.
