BJP and its ally AJSU has won 42 seats out of 81 in Jharkhand Assembly. The saffron party won 37 and its ally AJSU won 5 seats. Jharkhand is set to get a stable government for the first time after 14 years, when it was carved out of undivided Bihar. BJP would have expected a stronger show, but has narrowly managed to get a majority on its own. But its stalwart leader Arjin Munda has lost the election. Not only Arjun, 3 ex- CM bit the dust in this election, perhaps an indication of apathy of common man.

Media sources indicate Raghubar Das is likely to be the next CM of Jharkhand though he has downplayed the speculation. Raghubar said, "I am grateful to the people of Jamshedpur for their love and support. I want to assure the people of Jharkhand that Raghubar Das will always be there at their service". About him being frontrunner for the top post he sais,  "That is for the party's central leadership, the Prime Minister and the parliamentary board will decide".

JMM has won 19 seats, gain of 1 seat. It is far better than what many people expected the party to do in this election. Congress has fared poorly winning only 6 seats, conceding a loss of 15 seats. JVM won 8 seats, up 3 from last time.
