The Lion’s Club of Millennium has organised a free orthopaedic corrective surgery camp wherein children up to the age of 18 will be given free treatment related to polio, paralysis, hands and legs at Thunga Hospital in Malad.

The camp began on Friday and will continue up to February 4. A team of 15 doctors along with Dr Ashok N Johari will provide their services for free.

Raju Agarwal, President of Lion’s Club, said, “The camp is totally free for those who are economically backward. We got a good response on the first day with around 165 patients.” Agarwal, added, “The problems could have been there since birth or after birth like the unequal size of limbs, problems in hands or legs. We have children coming from the interiors of Maharashtra like Dahanu, Palghar and also from cities like Surat and Indore.”

“I would like to thank Thunga Hospital for providing their space for free and the doctors involved who are providing their services for free. Without them this kind of noble work is not possible,” Agarwal added.
