Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Chief Mohan Bhagwat while talking on the second day of the RSS Conclave said that people should visit the Sangh before drawing any conclusion about it.

Claiming that the organisation had changed over a period of time, Bhagwat said that Muslims were an integral part of the organisation’s vision. “Certain lines from ‘Bunch of Thoughts’ written by RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hegdewar were removed because they were contextual. We have only believed in keeping eternal and timeless thoughts,” he said.

Bhagwat also said that the RSS was committed to the idea of reservation in the Constitution. “We have been misinterpreted number of times. Reservation will continue till the time those who are getting it decide that they do not require it anymore," he said.

Bhagwat maintained that while society has changed and the LGBTQ community was an integral part of Indian society, the RSS did not fully support the Supreme Court judgment. “Society has changed and those who believe in alternative sexuality cannot be sidelined. It is a problem, but the community is an integral part of society,” he said.

On the issue of Ayodhya, he said that Ram temple must be built soon and matter should not have taken so much time. He also addressed the issue of RSS and politics. When this reporter asked why the organisational secretary from the BJP is always from the RSS, Bhagwat said, “We give Sangathan Mantri to those who demand it. Till now no other political party has demanded it. If a demand comes then it will be considered. The RSS, however, will always stay away from politics.”

Bhagwat also spoke on the issue of demographic balance. He said that demographic balance must be maintained in India and there should be a proper study in this regard. "Infiltration is one big cause of demographic change and it must be stopped at any cost," he said.

Condemning gau rakshaks who lynch people in the name of cow protection, Bhagwat said that while lynching was wrong, cow protection was of utmost importance. He also said that Hindi should be promoted as a language, but not at the cost of promoting other languages. “The RSS has nothing against English,” he said.

He also spoke on the issue of the way RSS is run. He said that RSS chief does not enjoy any powers and it is the number two who calls the shot.  "I can be the boss for a lifetime, but I do things as per the second-in-command. We elect a second-in-command every three years. All what I spoke in three days was discussed with senior office holders. What I speak is the consensus within organisation. This is what RSS is. Consensus is core to the RSS functioning," he said.
