Following their dismal performance in the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, Rajya Sabha MP and associate member of BJP Sanjay Kakade has asked its own party leadership to introspect. 'These results are clear indication that the party should keep aside issues like Ram temple and go back to its 2014 agenda of development," Kakade said.

This is not the first time, the Pune MP has spoken against the party. During the Gujarat Assembly elections, he had claimed that common people of the state were not in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and if the party wins, it would be only due to the "Modi magic" and nothing else.

Now, after poll results in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, Kakade has once again critisised his own party. Speaking after the election results, Kakade said, "I was anticipating negative results in Rajasthan. Results in Chhattisgarh were also expected but, the results in Madhya Pradesh are shocking."

"In spite of the leadership of Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan and the visisble strength of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the results in MP signal at introspection. There are 65 members of the Parliament and out of that, 62 are from BJP; yet, the party has performed dismally which has come as a warning bell," Kakade added.

Asking its own party leadership to go back to the agenda of development, Kakade said, "These election results are clear signs that the party should keep aside issues like the Ram temple, statues, changing of names and it should go back to the 2014 agenda of development. It was the agenda of development which had made the party win in 2014 and it can again win in the next elections if it takes the route of development," Kakade said.

NOT HIS FIRST

During Guj Assembly polls, he had claimed that common people of the state were not in favour of the BJP and if the party wins, it would be only due to the ‘Modi magic’ and nothing else
