This thief was caught red-handed, but only on camera! CCTV cameras of a residential complex in Sola captured a thief who entered a house and made off with a laptop and tablet on early Wednesday morning.

Brijesh Patel, 36, vice-president of a biotech firm, lives with his family at Nirman complex on RC Technical road in Chankyapuri.
On Wednesday at 7:15am, Patel and his wife went to a nearby temple. They kept the main door half open as Patel’s children and parents were still asleep and might wake up and want to come outside.

When Patel returned at around 8:30am, he couldn’t found his laptop, hard disk and tablet, which he kept near the puja room. He suspected that someone had come into the house while the inmates were sleeping and stolen the gadgets.

To confirm his suspicions, Patel reached the security office and saw the CCTV footage. In his complaint to Sola police on Wednesday, Patel claimed that a man in his early 30s was seen entering the building as soon as the couple went out. The culprit was also seen leaving with a laptop bag within a few minutes.

Based on the footage, Sola police have started their investigations.
