Five members of the family of Lance Naik Hanumanthappa Koppad -- the Indian Army soldier who was miraculously pulled out after being buried under 30 feet ice for six days in an avalanche at Siachen Glacier - including his wife, mother and two-year-old daughter Netra arrived here late on Tuesday evening from Betadur village in Karnataka's Dharwad district.
As he battles for life on a ventilator at the Army Research and Referal Hospital here, the family was helped by a Karnataka legislator to reach Delhi via Hubli and Goa on road before catching a flight to Delhi.
His wife Mahadevi Ashok while coming out of the IGI airport here looked visibly disturbed and refused to speak to the waiting media.
His 62-year-old mother Basamma and two uncles too didn't speak to the reporters.
The family was escorted out by Army personnel and taken to R and R hospital.
