Lalu Prasad Yadav blames RJD, JD(U) divide for election loss

RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Monday blamed the division between his party and former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U) for the debacle in the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections.

"If we count the total number of votes given to the RJD and the JD(U), the number is much higher than the number of votes that BJP received," he said at a rally which he shared with Nitish Kumar, campaigning for the upcoming by-elections in 10 constituencies in Bihar.

Lalu also added that the votes were lost because of this division. "It was our folly. We were divided, separated, and the BJP won as a result," he said.

Lalu and Nitish Kumar had announced their alliance last month after both suffered heavy defeats in the Lok Sabha elections.
