Ladakh celebrates Article 370 abrogation, says BJP MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal

Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, the Member of Parliament from Ladakh, first became a social media sensation with his fiery speech in Lok Sabha on the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir. Several BJP leaders praised Namgyal for his speech in the Parliament. 

In a video shared by the leader on Twitter, Namgyal was seen shaking a leg and waving the tricolour flag when he returned to Ladakh after Article 370 was scrapped. 

Citing the decision to make Ladakh a Union Territory, BJP MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal said that no other political leader could have taken this decision for Ladakh and its people. The people of Ladakh will invite PM Modi to visit Ladakh soon and celebrate with them, he said.

Further, attacking Former Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi, Namgyal said that Congress has been opposing the abrogation of Article 370 for a personal motive. He accused Congress of never focusing on the development of Ladakh.

Decades Of Neglect

Citing the decision to make Ladakh a Union Territory, Namgyal said that no other leader could have taken this decision for Ladakh and its people
Namgyal raised issues pertaining to Ladakh and said that they have suffered enormous losses while they were a part of Kashmir 

“No one from the Congress has fulfilled the demands of the citizens of Ladakh. But now, under the leadership of PM Modi, Ladakh will regain its culture and identity,” he said.  He also said that Kashmir is an internal matter of India but Congress insists ion taking the issue to the UN. He urged that Congress should not oppose the bills that are in the national interest. 

Namgyal raised issues pertaining to Ladakh and said that they have suffered enormous losses while they were a part of Kashmir and accused the Kashmiri leaders of transferring the funds to Srinagar from Ladakh. He also said that Ladakh women are deployed in police in Kashmir but no Kashmiri woman is deployed in the police force in Ladakh. “Ladakh has been discriminated for the past seven decades,” he said. 

Talking about the issues over land in Ladakh, he said that land will not be given to outsiders and those who invest in Ladakh will be able to take land on lease. Industrialists planning to set up industries in Ladakh will have to give employment to the local people. “ We will make it mandatory for all the industries to provide jobs to the locals here in Ladakh, “ he said.
