Kushinagar accident: Heads roll as school broke all safety rules

The school ignored all possible safety guidelines. The van was carrying 25 kids, against its capacity of seven. It was not registered with transport authorities and did not carry the mandatory fitness certificate.   

The UP government suspended two education department officials for allowing the school to run without recognition. A case has been registered against the manager, owner and principal. He surrendered late in the evening. The administration has sealed the school. 

UP CM Yogi Adityanath also suspended two officers of the transport department and ordered a crackdown to check if all schools are running legally and in line with Supreme Court guidelines.
