Against the backdrop of a row between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on sharing electricity and water, the Krishna River Water Management Board would meet here on October 29 even as the new state complained to it about "injustice" meted out under undivided AP.

Board Chairman S K G Pandit called on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who explained the "injustice" done to his state in allocation of water and other resources in undivided Andhra Pradesh, a release from the Chief Minister's Office said.

The Board, set up as per Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act (under which Telangana was created), looks after administration and other aspects of such projects on Krishna river as notified by the Centre.

The Board's meeting assumes significance as it comes in the midst of an ongoing dispute between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh over power generation at Srisailam project located on the border of the two States.

Andhra Pradesh wants Telangana to stop power generation at Srisailam project, saying it would lead to water scarcity in Rayalaseema region of AP.

However, Telangana has refused to stop generation in view of the prevailing acute power shortage, especially to agriculture, in the state.

A bitter war of words is on between the two states over the issue with both sides accusing each other of violating the norms.

During the meeting with the Board Chairman, Rao said "complete injustice and discrimination" had been done to Telangana in allocation of river water and usage in undivided Andhra Pradesh, according to the release.

Alleging that Andhra Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has denied the rightful share of electricity to his state, Rao said generation of power at Srisailam has become inevitable for Telangana in view of the power shortage as per rules, much hue and cry has been raised by the Andhra Government, Rao maintained.
