Kolkata: Man stabbed to death in broad daylight

Police sources reveal that Saha was unable to return some amount of money to Sahani for the past several months.

A man was stabbed to death in broad daylight in Central Kolkata on Friday afternoon. The deceased, identified as Budhadeb Saha, was attacked by Rameshwar Sahani with a chopper.
 
The incident took place a little after 12 noon on Biplabi Anukul Chandra Street in front of Calcutta Girls High School. Girls of primary section witnessed the gory incident unfolding as the school had just got over.
 
No one rushed to help and the attacker fled from the spot. It was only when Saha collapsed on the street, the locals took him to the Calcutta Medical College, where he was declared brought dead. A post-mortem is likely to be carried out tomorrow.
 
Police rushed to the spot immediately and a team comprising forensic officials are likely to visit the place of incident to collect samples. Meanwhile, the area where the murder was committed has been cordoned off.
 
Meanwhile, police have arrested the accused Sahani and recovered the chopper used for committing the crime. Police sources reveal that Saha was unable to return some amount of money to Sahani for the past several months, leading the former to commit the crime.
