Kolkata: Junior doctors allegedly beat up police officers

In a shocking incident, junior doctors of NRS Medical College and Hospital allegedly beat up three police officers, including one female officer on Sunday.
 
The scuffle broke out when four police officers of Manicktala police station were trying to admit a patient at the hospital. An altercation between the police officers and doctors then took place.  

Sunita Mondal, a constable of the Manicktala police was allegedly hit by the doctors on her neck and shoulder, leaving her seriously injured. A sub-inspector of the same police station Prashanta Mahato's uniform was torn and the moble phone of sub-inspector Rajdeep Sarkar was snatched away by the same bunch of doctors after he tried to click pictures.
 
Sources in the police add that a complaint will soon be registered against the accused and such an attack on police officers, especially that involves one female constable will not tolerated.
 
The hospital had received a lot of flak in the past, after a case was registered where a mentally-challenged person, Korpan Shah, was lynched by junior doctors. As many as seven junior doctors of the hospital were arrested in connection to the case.
