Two more accused in the Audi hit and run case - Sanu alias Shahnawaz Khan and Johny alias Nur Alam were remanded to eleven days police custody till January 30 by the Kolkata court on Tuesday.

The court rejected the bail plea moved by the accused - Sanu and Johny's and sent them to police custody. Sanu and Johny's lawyers argued that the police were demanding for custody only based on suspicion and that they were not present inside the car.

"The police's forwarding document mentions that for the purpose of investigation they are demanding police custody, which proves that it is only based on suspicion," said Rajdeep Majumdar, appearing for both the accused. The police had arrested Sanu on Sunday night and brought to the city on Monday night on transit remand. On Tuesday morning, another co-accused, Johny was arrested from the port area and produced before the court together.
