Bolivia would be the theme country at the Kolkata Book Fair next year and will pay tribute to Marxist revolutionary Che Guevera and 40 years of Vietnam War.
The 12-day Book Fair beginning January 27 will have Bolivia as the focal theme country to signify 50 years of the struggle by Che Guevara against imperialism, organiser Tridib Chatterjee told reporters here today. Vietnam will participate as a special guest-of-honour with a 25-member team of writers, artists and publishers from that country, he said.
Other countries like Guatemala, Norway, China, Bangladesh, UK, USA, France, Japan, Peru, Turkey and Latin American countries will also participate. Around 50 publishers from other Indian states would also set up stalls, he added. Coinciding with the book fair will be the third edition of the three-day Kolkata Literature Festival from February 4.
