Kolkata BJP meets intellectuals to discuss party's roadmap for 2016

With an eye on the 2016 assembly polls, the Bengal BJP unit today held a meeting with intellectuals to discuss the party's roadmap for the upcoming municipal polls in 2015 and assembly polls in 2016.

"Today around 100 intellectuals from all walks of life including singers, actors, sports personalities, retired bureaucrats attended our meeting. All those who turned up in the meet are members of BJP," party state unit President Rahul Sinha said.

"We are preparing a roadmap for the 2015 municipal and 2016 assembly polls in the state. So before making the final draft we wanted to incorporate their ideas and thoughts about what more needs to be done by the BJP to reach out to the masses. So we organised this meet. The meeting was a grand success as everybody aired their opinion and shared ideas," Sinha said.

The intellectual meet was attended by senior BJP leader and party's MP from Darjeeling S S Aluwahlia.

Among the noted intellectuals who attended the meet are singer Arati Mukherjee and actor George Baker.
