BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi on Friday took to the metro in an effort to reach out to the people hours before Delhi goes to polls.

"After I become chief minister, I will survey the metro unannounced as I used to do when I was in police. Crime on the move is needed to be monitored," she said. Bedi travelled from Patel Chowk metro station to Nirman Vihar and interacted with the commuters.

"In Delhi, there is a need to connect the metro service to the bus service and the ring railway. People should be able to buy a single ticket and travel in all the modes of transport available," she told reporters. She said, "Government officials should ensure security of people travelling in the public transport. They should once in a while take a ride in the metro and the buses to understand the ground situations. We will do these whe we come to power." However, her travel in the metro created difficulty to commuters in the Rajiv Chowk metro station as she took the metro during the evening rush hour.

From Patel Chowk, Bedi boarded a Jahangirpur bound train to Rajiv Chowk from where she took a Vaishali bound train to Nirman Vihar. A lot of people were also seen clicking pictures of the former IPS officer where as some were toiling for a glimpse of her.
