Bharatiya Janata Party's chief ministerial candidate and former IPS officer Kiran Bedi on Monday dubbed the attack on her campaign office in Krishna Nagar as 'absolutely unfortunate' and said it is because of such incidents that the civilized people do not join politics.

"It is absolutely unfortunate. Is this what the elections are all about? Winning and losing will go on. Is it civilized to beat up party workers? This is an uncivilized behaviour and that is why the civilized people do not enter politics. If such incidents continue then good people won't join politics," Bedi said.

She further said that an FIR has been filed in the matter. She also lauded the BJP workers for not retaliating.

"The best part is that our party workers have not retaliated, our workers remained calm," said Bedi.

"We have filed an FIR and now the investigation will tell who has done it. The CCTV has also captured the faces of the perpetrators, we will be handing over the footages to the police," she added.
