Pakistan's terror factory was exposed once again after a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) operational commander killed in the Lam forests of Tral on Tuesday turned out to be a close aide of India's most wanted militant commander Moulana Masood Azhar.

Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir police, Dr Shesh Paul Vaid released a picture of gun-wielding Mufti Yasir with Masood Azhar as the Pakistani police guards can be seen behind the terror commanders.

"Operational commander of JeM Mufti Yasir was among those killed in joint operation in upper reaches of Tral," tweeted Dr Vaid along with the picture of Mufti Yasir with Masood Azhar.

Four terrorists and two security force men including an Army jawan and police constable were killed in a fierce encounter at Gatengo Laam forest area of Tral on Tuesday. Two of the slain ultras were locals and two others were Pakistani nationals. One of the foreign terrorist was later identified as Mufti Yasir, a key aide of Moulana Masood Azhar.

Mufti Yasir had taken over the command of JeM after the killing of Mufti Waqas alias Abu Arsalan in a surgical operation at Hatwar village of Awantipora in South Kashmir district of Pulwama on March 5.

An A++ category commander, Mufti Waqas of Pakistan was the mastermind of February 10 Sunjuwan army camp fidayeen attack who was carrying a bounty of Rs 12.5 lakh on his head. A close associate of slain midget chief Noor Mohammad Tantray alias Noor Trali, Waqas had infiltrated into Kashmir last year.

Police sources said Mufti Yasir had infiltrated along with a group of Pakistani militants to take over the command of the JeM. After sneaking-in, Yasir along with some of the ultras traveled to Tral and set up base in the Lam forests. Sources said some of the infiltrating group of members is believed to be hiding in North Kashmir area.

Security forces have launched a massive manhunt to track down the other associates of the group. "We are trying to locate and neutralize the other members of the group", said a police officer.
