Kerala Youth Congress leader killed, party blames CPI-M

A 29-year-old Youth Congress leader, TH Shuhaib, was hacked to death, allegedly by CPI(M) workers, at Mattanur in Kannur district, prompting a sharp attack by Congress on the Left Front government. The Congress has raised doubts on whether any action would be taken against the perpetrators. 

While Congress president Rahul Gandhi expressed shock at Shuhaib’s murder, the party’s youth wing leader in Kerala’s Kannur district, party veteran from the state and former Defence Minister AK Antony accused the ruling CPI (M)’s hand behind the killing. “I’m shocked to hear about the murder of Kerala AYC General Secretary, TH Shuhaib. I hope the perpetrators of this cowardly act are brought to justice soon. My condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace,” the Congress president tweeted.
