After yet another incident of an attack on a BJP worker in Kerala, the party has called a strike on Saturday to protest against the death of C Radhakrishnan, a local BJP leader, at Kanjikkode in Palakkad.

According to an Indian Express report, Radhakrishnan’s house was allegedly set on fire by CPI (M) men in the wee hours of December 28 and he succumbed to his injuries on Friday.

Apart from Radhakrishna, his brother Kannan, wife Vimala and nephew Adarsh also sustained burns while trying to douse the fire. While the police has arrested three CPI (M) workers, Kannan and Vimala are still battling for life at hospital in Thrissur.

Radhakrishnan's cattle shed was set ablaze initially, followed by his three bikes as a result of which an LPG cylinder kept near the bike exploded. The fire thus spread to neighbouring room where he was sleeping.

The attack on his house was an aftermath of the clashes between CPI (M) and BJP workers which has been on for a quite sometime now in Palakkad.
