Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that his government had published progress report every year and will also issue another progress report after the general elections in 2019.

“The political parties at the Centre come up with a manifesto only ahead of an election but the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government, after it came to power had issued a progress report after the completion of its first and second year and will also do so after the end of this year’s general election. We have lived up to all the assurances which we had made in our election manifesto,” Vijayan said addressing a public meeting on Wednesday on the occasion of the completion of 1000 days of the LDF government.

Painting a rosy picture of the state he said, “Kerala is the least corrupt state in India. Even the Opposition cannot find any corruption charges against this government.” Albeit he added that corruption was yet to be wiped out and that there were still areas remain where it needed to be worked out. “Earlier there was only negativity about the state and people thought there was no future of this state but after completion of 1000 days of the LDF government a lot of positivity has been instilled in the minds of the people of Kerala,” Vijayan added.

The state labour minister TP Ramakrishnan on Wednesday inaugurated an exhibition of the works of the labour department on the occasion. However, being indisposed, Ramakrishnan refrained from interacting with mediapersons. At the stall of Kerela State Electricity Board (KSEB), Shaini KP, assistant engineer, KSEB said that the state government was likely to take up a 1000 megawatt capacity of solar power project. “The feasibility report is still being prepared. Once it is done, the project will be executed,” she said and added that domestic power rate would range between Rs 2 and Rs 6 per unit and under no circumstances it would exceed Rs 6. “The government, looking at the convenience of the common people had decided to cross-subsidise it with commercial and industrial users,” she said.

On Tuesday, Vijayan had launched the country’s first humanoid robot cop – KP-bot at the Kerala Police headquarters in Trivandrum. The first of its kind human robot will assist visitors to lead them to places at the headquarters, according to their need. It had also been specified that there will not be any retrenchment owing to the introduction of the robot version of policeperson.
