Kerala Elections 2016: Nivin Pauly campaigns for actor and LDF candidate KB Ganesh Kumar

The Kerala elections are heating up because of so many actors involved in the contest this time. In Pathanapuram constituency, all three major candidates are actors. And this has caused a bit of a divide in the AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists). 

First it was Mohanlal who came out in support of actor and LDF candidate KB Ganesh Kumar. Now it is the turn of Premam star Nivin Pauly who posted a video on his social media page endorsing Ganesh Kumar. 

Earlier, when Mohanlal campaigned for Ganesh Kumar, actor Salim Kumar resigned from AMMA. He stated that the association had an unwritten rule that no AMMA member should campaign in Pathanapuram as all three candidates are actors.

Actor Innocent, AMMA president, has told The New Indian Express that AMMA has not instructed actors to stay away from campaigning. He added that the association does not want to interfere with the political stand of actors. "We are thankful to Salim for his services as the executive member of AMMA," he added.

But Salim in his resignation letter to Mammootty, AMMA’s secretary, stated, "AMMA had given clear instructions to actors not to campaign for any particular candidates. Mohanlal violated this guideline."
